Camera Module Product Information Update!2019-06-21
One of the most anticipated features for any new smartphone release is the camera. As of late, companies have been engaging in competition over the number of camera modules installed in a smartphone, and Samsung Electro-Mechanics supplies high-end camera modules for premium smartphones. We not only manufacture camera modules for mobile devices, but also for electric vehicles and automobiles.
Samsung Electro-Mechanics designs and manufactures our own lenses, actuators, and other key components to provide differentiated products that enhance customer value. And all of this is the kind of information that was used to update the camera module product information webpage.

The webpage showcases the recently released triple-camera module, along with features and applications for our camera modules and the strengths unique to Samsung Electro-Mechanics.
Recently, Samsung Electro-Mechanics successfully developed a 5x optical zoom module with greater magnification and shorter height compared to the previous 2x zoom module. The lenses within the camera module move to provide optical zoom that allows for zooming in on and photographing distant subjects. Greater distances between the image sensor and the lens allows for higher magnification optical zoom.
With traditional methods, high magnification optical zoom meant taller camera modules that create a “camera bump (referring to the protrusion of the rear-facing camera),” but with Samsung Electro-Mechanics’ new method, high magnification optical zoom will no longer mean having a “camera bump.”
Since Samsung Electro-Mechanics entered the camera module market in 2003, it has developed products such as the world’ first OIS (Optical Image Stabilizer) dual camera module and variable aperture camera module, and these components are used in major premium smartphone models.
We hope that you will continue to support Samsung Electro-Mechanics' development of camera modules!
