Samsung Electro-Mechanics (CEO Yun Tae Lee) selected Heon-Joo Jung, Head of component Busan manufacturing team, as ‘Samsung Master Artisan", and Dong-Soo Ham Pro (lens manufacturing technology), Ki-Joo Jeon Group Leader (substrate manufacturing technology), and Nam-Gyu Park Group Leader (global technology center quality) as ‘Maestro’, and awarded certificates at the New Year kick-off meeting on January 2.
'Samsung Master Artisan' is a system that certifies the best experts in manufacturing related fields that require especially technical expertise and know-how, and employees with at least 20 years of experience and craftsman-level workmanship and know-how may be selected.
Samsung Electro-Mechanics introduced the Samsung Master Artisan System this year, following Samsung Electronics which introduced it last year.
Samsung Electro-Mechanics selected Heon-Joo Jung as Master Artisan in the manufacturing technology field based on the comprehensive evaluation of professional competence, level of technology, training of the younger generation, and contribution to management.
Mr. Jung joined the company in 1996 and has been working in the field of manufacturing technology of MLCC (Multi-Layer Ceramic Capacitor) for 24 years. He is the best technical expert in MLCC and has been leading localization of facilities and on-site innovation.
He has localized MLCC’s main facilities (e.g. molding machines and printing machines) and materials, and has been leading continuous technology development and on-site innovation such as improving productivity through enlarging the stacking areas.
In addition, he led the expansion of new plants and stabilization of production lines at Tianjin and Philippines subsidiaries, and since 2018, he has been leading the mass production of high-end products including MLCC for electronics as Head of component Busan manufacturing team, contributing greatly to strengthening MLCC technology competitiveness.
Meanwhile, Samsung Electro-Mechanics introduced a Maestro system, a Semi-Master Artisan who has more than 15 years of experience in the manufacturing fields, and three members have been selected for the first time this year.
Samsung Electro-Mechanics has selected Dong-Soo Ham Pro, who has strengthened the competitiveness of lens for camera modules, Ki-Joo Jeon Group Leader, who contributed to the technology differentiation of semiconductor substrates, and Nam-Gyu Park Group Leader, who has organized the quality system through data statistics and analysis, as Maestro respectively.
Samsung Electro-Mechanics expects to further strengthen the company's technological competitiveness through the Master Artisan and Maestro systems, which select technical experts in the manufacturing fields.
