On January 2, Samsung Electro-Mechanics held a New Year kick-off meeting at the Suwon Plant where CEO Yoon Tae Lee and employees made a determination for a strong start of the New Year.
The New Year kick-off meeting was held in real time by connecting all domestic business sites including Suwon, Sejong, and Busan, with video and employees shared the accomplishments of the last year and had time to look back on what could have been improved.
CEO Lee said in his New Year’ message, "The technology trend is changing in line with the industrial structure changes such as the 4th industrial revolution, and the demand for high performance / ultra-high speed / large-capacity components is increasing. Based on the overwhelming core competencies, we have to further upgrade the company’s competitiveness by preoccupying new business opportunities.” To this end, he called for efforts “to secure growth potential by innovating competitiveness in the existing material and module businesses and to build a foundation by changing ‘the way we work’ for the strong component company.”
On that day, Samsung Electro-Mechanics introduced the 'Master Artisan' system, which selects the best experts who have worked in the manufacturing fields for more than 20 years, and Heon-Joo Jung Team Leader (Component Busan Manufacturing Team), who is in charge of manufacturing at the Busan plant, was selected as the first “Master Artisan” of Samsung Electro-Mechanics. In addition, 'Maestro' was first introduced to strengthen on-site technology and foster experts at Samsung Electro-Mechanics, and a total of three members were selected; Ki-Joo Jeon Group Leader (BGA Manufacturing Technology Group), Nam-Gyu Park Group Leader (Quality Innovation Group), and Dong-Soo Ham Pro (Lens Manufacturing Technology Group).
