Samsung Electro-Mechanics has signed a supply contract for AI server MLCCs worth approximately KRW 1.0722 trillion with a major global company. The contract period is one year, from January 1, 2027 to December 31, 2027, and this is the largest long-term MLCC supply contract to date.
Signed long-term supply contracts with over 10 customers, the largest scale ever
MLCCs are key components that regulate the stable flow of current in electronic circuits and prevent signal interference between parts. In particular, unlike general products, MLCCs for AI servers must withstand 24/7 operation in high-temperature and high-voltage environments, requiring both high capacity and high reliability. Given their high technical difficulty among MLCCs, only a few companies are capable of producing them.
This contract is a result of recognition for Samsung Electro-Mechanics' MLCC design technology, product reliability in high-temperature and high-voltage environments, and its production and quality management capabilities to meet the demands of major global customers. The company is strengthening its competitiveness and expanding its presence in the AI server market.
Including this customer, Samsung Electro-Mechanics has signed long-term MLCC supply agreements (LTAs) with over 10 global companies. The company is also in discussions for long-term supply contracts with several global companies and plans to respond proactively.
Since May, the company has consecutively signed long-term supply contracts for silicon capacitors and AI server MLCCs worth approximately KRW 3.32 trillion, securing a stable demand base and accelerating its shift to a high value-added portfolio.
Maintaining a leading global market share of 40% for AI server MLCCs
AI servers use more than 10 times as many MLCCs as general servers, and demand for MLCCs is expected to grow rapidly as investment in AI data centers increases. According to Goldman Sachs, the AI server MLCC market is projected to grow at an average annual rate of about 34%, from USD 1.4 billion in 2025 to USD 5.8 billion in 2030.
Samsung Electro-Mechanics maintains a leading global position with a market share of over 40% in the AI server MLCC market. The company stated, "This contract is a result of global customers recognizing Samsung Electro-Mechanics' technological capabilities and supply stability," and added, "We will further expand the supply of high-reliability MLCCs for AI servers and secure firm leadership in the AI market."
