Inductor

What is a Power Inductor?
It's an inductor for power supplies and circuits, made from metal composite or ferrite materials. It is primarily used in circuits for converting a specific voltage into a required voltage, and serves to supply stable power to the IC. As the inductor is used in the power circuit, it is manufactured to maintain inductance when the current is applied and to have low resistance characteristics.

Metal Composite

The metal composite type is composed of metal powder-based body material and low-resistance Cu coil. It is divided into the thin-film type and the winding type, according to the coil manufacturing method. Samsung Electro-Mechanics continues to develop and launch high-efficiency products using metal composite materials.

What is a High Frequency Inductor?
High-frequency inductors consist of ceramic materials made of glass and internal/external electrodes made of silver. They are plated with nickel (Ni) and tin (Sn). They can be applied usefully for high frequency of 100MHz or higher due to their high Q characteristics in high frequency, SRF characteristics in a high-frequency band, and low resistivity. High frequency inductors are mainly used for impedance matching circuits in RF systems.

Multilayer

Allows for high Q characteristics at small sizes through optimized coil design and processing technologies. In addition, fixed L(Inductance) values are maintained in a high-frequency band to ensure that the inductors can be used in an RF bandwidth of 300 MHz or higher. Samsung Electro-Mechanics produces a multilayer type of high frequency inductors, which prints electrodes on magnetic sheets that then get stacked. The top and bottom surfaces are covered with magnetic sheet covers.

What is a Bead?
Beads are surface-mounting–type parts made by using the multilayer process. These are passive components that remove noise by using the characteristics of ferrite. We have a lineup of products that can remove noise in the band ranging from 5 MHz to GHz using the characteristics and magnetic permeability of various materials. These are mainly used for removing electromagnetic noise of mobile devices and digital A/V equipment. With miniaturization, it's becoming more difficult to equip products with high-impedance characteristics in high frequency. But Samsung Electro-Mechanics continues to produce beads that cover noise over a wide frequency range by developing and applying the permeability and technology of a diverse range of materials.

Signal Line

There are normal products that can remove signal noise over a wide low-to-high frequency band, and there are high-speed products that are used when signal frequency is relatively high to steeply increase the impedance to remove noise in specific areas. Depending on the frequency range required, various products can be selected to eliminate noise.

Power Line

Beads for the Power Line are designed to remove noise from the power supply circuit of IT equipment. It can be inserted in series in a circuit to remove broadband noise from low to high frequencies. In particular, smaller compact beads can eliminate power supply noise.
