Samsung Electro-Mechanics(SEM) continues its volunteer work for communication and harmony with the local community. ‘Love Fund’, a part of community sharing activities, raises funds through donations from employees. This is used to support needy people and youth education projects near its production sites. Various activities of Love Fund to create a better future are as follows.
SEM has been supporting a small birthday party every month for children in shelters since 2013. This is a great joy, especially for children who are unable to engage much in outside activities due to COVID-19.
Volunteer work to provide learning guidance for low-income youths who are so eager to learn is also being conducted. SEM's staff served as mentors. Mentoring started in a study room in Maetan-dong, Suwon last April. Moving forward, we plan to work together to solve various problems such as study, career, and life.
Non-face-to-face volunteer work continues in the face of COVID-19. The company staff's volunteer team at the Sejong plant donates goods every month, and the upcycling dolls heartily prepared by the staff of the Busan plant were delivered to the Busan Children's Center for Children's Day.
