Samsung Electro-Mechanics is operating a Quality University for all employees to “create customer value with the highest quality.” The Samsung Electro-Mechanics Quality University is designed to help employees recognize the importance of quality and grow into quality experts through a systematic curriculum and practical training. It will commence on March 24.
The Quality University features lectures delivered by experts from various fields, including current professors, company executives, and in-house employees holding Quality Engineer certifications. The program is structured as a university-level educational course. It consists of 20 courses in total, organized into four levels: from Level 1, which focuses on building foundational concepts, to Level 4, which emphasizes practical applications. The main categories include data analysis, quality systems, and job-specific applications. Notably, in response to the growing importance of automotive electronics, courses related to this field have been added under the quality systems category.
Employees will gain statistical knowledge by completing foundational courses necessary for statistical data analysis and will enhance their practical skills in areas such as product development, process improvement, and customer complaint resolution through hands-on exercises based on real-world cases.
Samsung Electro-Mechanics’ Quality University is operated as a customized training program tailored to reflect the product characteristics of each business site in Suwon, Sejong, and Busan. Approximately 1,500 employees from various departments—including quality, research and development, production, and procurement—have applied for the training.
Park Namkyu, Group Leader of the Quality Assurance Office, stated, “We have organized various training courses, from basic statistics to applied statistics, design of experiments, and reliability analysis, to help employees recognize the importance of quality and enhance their practical competencies in quality.”
CEO Chang Duckhyun emphasized, “‘Quality’ is the final gate before delivery to customers. Quality is trust and a promise to our customers. We must provide value to customers with the highest quality.”
In addition to the Quality University for employees, Samsung Electro-Mechanics is conducting regular quality training for its partner companies to improve product quality. The Samsung Electro-Mechanics Quality University plans to add courses that reflect the latest technologies such as AI-based quality analysis and big data utilization. Through these efforts, Samsung Electro-Mechanics aims to strengthen quality innovation and global product competitiveness.
