Samsung Electro-Mechanic Received “CDP Carbon Management” Highest Grade for Three Consecutive Year

- Joined the Platinum Club (Highest Grade) for three consecutive years from 2017
- Maintained its position in the “CDP Hall of Fame” since 2014
- Consistent efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by establishing a global safe environment management system

 

 

Samsung Electro-Mechanic has been accepted to join the Platinum Club, which is the highest grade, as a result of Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP)’s evaluation of climate change responses conducted against 6,300 global companies and 62 Korean companies.

 

CDP, a non-profit organization established in 2000 and headquartered in London, U.K., provides financial institutions investing in companies with the opportunities and risk factors relating to climate change by disclosing the climate change response strategy, information on greenhouse gas emissions, reduction efforts, etc. of the major listed companies from 92 countries. As of 2019, more than 8,000 companies around the world participated in the CDP and disclosed their carbon management information, and Samsung Electro-Mechanic has participated in the CDP since 2009.
 
Samsung Electro-Mechanic lists all sources of greenhouse gas emissions occurring from the product manufacturing process, calculates the amount of emissions and discloses such information, and continuously conducts greenhouse gas emission reduction activities.

 

Meanwhile, Samsung Electro-Mechanic makes efforts to establish a global safe environment management system by applying the air pollution reduction method, which is used at the time of managing water resources and introducing new manufacturing processes, to facilities, etc.
