Samsung Electro-Mechanics Announces 2025 Q2 Business Performance

▶ Q2 Revenue Reaches KRW 2.78 Trillion, Operating Profit KRW 213 Billion
- Solid profitability maintained despite unfavorable exchange rates
- Revenue up 8% and operating profit up 1% YoY
- Revenue up 2% and operating profit up 6% QoQ

▶ Performance improved by expanding supply of premium products for industrial and automotive applications

▶ In Q3, further growth expected on the back of flagship smartphone launches and increasing demand in AI servers, ADAS, and industrial/automotive sectors

Samsung Electro-Mechanics posted revenue of KRW 2.7846 trillion and operating profit of KRW 213.0 billion in the second quarter of 2025. Compared to the same period last year, revenue rose by KRW 212.0 billion (8%) and operating profit by KRW 1.5 billion (1%). Compared to the previous quarter, revenue grew by KRW 46.0 billion (2%) and operating profit by KRW 12.5 billion (6%). Despite adverse exchange rate conditions, profitability was maintained through a shift toward high value-added products.

Driven by strong demand for premium solutions in AI, automotive, and server applications, the company expanded its supply of MLCCs for industrial and automotive uses, as well as FCBGAs for AI accelerators. This contributed to growth in both revenue and operating profit YoY and QoQ. In the third quarter, new smartphone model launches by domestic and global customers are expected to fuel continued demand for IT components, AI server/network solutions, and industrial/automotive products such as ADAS.

Business Unit Performance and Outlook

[Component Solution]

Component Solutions posted Q2 revenue of KRW 1.2807 trillion, up 10% YoY and 5% QoQ. This growth was driven by increased MLCC supply across all applications, including industrial, automotive, and IT. The expansion of xEV markets, broader adoption of ADAS, and rising demand for AI servers and networks supported an increase in premium product supply.

In the second half of the year, investment in AI servers by major global tech firms is expected to remain strong. Continued robust demand for industrial and automotive applications is anticipated, especially with advances in ADAS performance. Samsung Electro-Mechanics aims to expand its customer base in the global AI server and network MLCC market while broadening its lineup of high-capacity and high-voltage MLCCs for automotive use.

[Package Solution]

Package Solutions reported Q2 revenue of KRW 564.6 billion, up 13% both YoY and QoQ. The company expanded supply of high-end package substrates such as FCBGAs for server applications and BGAs for ARM processors to major global tech companies. The full-scale supply of FCBGAs for AI accelerators, which began in Q2, also contributed to the revenue growth.

In Q3, demand for FCBGAs for servers and AI accelerators is expected to continue rising. Additionally, the launch of new smartphones is anticipated to drive demand for memory and SiP package substrates. The company plans to respond quickly to new server FCBGA supply requirements and expand BGA supply focused on products with growing demand.

[Optical Solution]

Optical Solutions recorded Q2 revenue of KRW 939.3 billion, up 3% YoY. Although revenue declined QoQ due to seasonal fluctuations in demand for flagship camera modules from major customers, YoY growth was driven by increased shipments of high-performance modules for overseas clients, all-weather camera modules, and in-cabin camera modules with hybrid lenses for automotive applications.

In Q3, Samsung Electro-Mechanics plans to supply high-spec IT camera modules in a timely manner and expand its supply of high-reliability automotive modules, including all-weather and in-cabin cameras. The company will also reinforce its technological leadership and strengthen collaboration with customers in emerging application areas such as robotaxis and humanoids.
