We have published the 2019 Sustainability Report.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics has published the “2019 Sustainability Report”, which includes the firm’s activities and achievements as a global citizen. 
Since 2006, Samsung Electro-Mechanics has been publishing the Sustainability Report to stakeholders that summarize the achievements with regards to “Profit”, “Planet”, and “People”.

 

 

Samsung Electro-Mechanics reflects the standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI, an international organization that provides guidelines for sustainability reports) as well as matters of interest to key stakeholders, including clients, partner companies, executives and employees, local communities, environment, and shareholders.

In order to make the company’s sustainability activities transparent, Samsung Electro-Mechanics includes key products, economic achievements, supply chain management, organization culture, and response to climate change. In particular, this report establishes and officially announces the “Samsung Electro-Mechanics Model of Behavior”. The “Samsung Electro-Mechanics Model of Behavior” is expected to serve a role in allowing for the executives and employees of Samsung Electro-Mechanics to make appropriate decisions and actions and providing direction for the execution of the company’s social responsibilities.

 

In the report, Kyehyun Kyung, CEO of Samsung Electro-Mechanics, revealed, “With the advent of the 5G era, along with state-of-the-art conversion technology, we will take one step further through digital transformation of the overall business. We plan to generate continuous future value by prioritizing stable profit (Profit), pursuit of happiness of the constituents (People), and environment responsibility (Planet).

As a global corporate citizen, in recognition of its achievements in sustainability, including social responsibility, Samsung Electro-Mechanics was selected 11 years in a row for the DJSI World Index, 9 years in a row for the FTSE4Good Index, and CDP Platinum Club Award for 3 years in a row.

 

This report has complemented quantitative data to objectively show Samsung Electro-Mechanics’ sustainability activities to its shareholders and shows 3-year worth of information from 2017 to 2019 to allow for comparison with previous achievements. In order to secure objectivity and credibility of its reporting details, Samsung Electro-Mechanics has received an opinion of verification from a 3rd party institution.
