Samsung Electro-Mechanics' Suwon Plant was newly named as an Outstanding Workplace with Health Promotion Activities for Workers in 2021 by the Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency (KOSHA). This is the first such recognition among Samsung manufacturing subsidiaries, and the Suwon Plant received the highest score (90.5 points) among the companies that were selected as outstanding workplaces.
Each year, KOSHA selects Outstanding Workplaces with Health Promotion Activities for Workers by evaluating health promotion activities at workplaces under the Ministry of Employment and Labor's guidelines for health promotion activities. In July, Samsung Electro-Mechanics' Suwon Plant underwent an on-site evaluation of 43 items in 7 categories, including the establishment of a health management system, management's awareness level, and organizational culture, and received the recognition in October after a review by KOSHA's selection committee.
Samsung Electro-Mechanics' Suwon Plant was highly regarded for introducing a mobile health promotion program in response to the spread of COVID-19 and the management's high interest in improving the health of workers. The Suwon Plant is running various programs for physical and mental health, such as enhancement of health facilities, improvement of chronic diseases, and a smoking cessation campaign, as well as psychological counseling and meditation
Samsung Electro-Mechanics will continue to offer a variety of programs to promote the health of its employees and to create healthy and pleasant workplaces.
