▶Samsung Electro-Mechanics organizes and operates Blue Elephant as a major project to prevent youth cyberbullying
▶It aim to efforts to establish and spread a sustainable cyberbullying prevention system

Under the slogan of 'Enabling People", Samsung Electro-Mechanics (SEM) is conducting social contribution activities in which its employees participate with a focus on youth education. In 2020, the five companies of Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, Samsung SDI, and Samsung SDS signed a partnership agreement with the Ministry of Education and the Community Chest of Korea for the Blue Elephant project. Samsung plans to develop a youth cyberbullying prevention project with a budget of 13 billion won for 10 years by 2029.

Blue Elephant, mainly hosted by SEM, is a major project that comprehensively supports campaigns, prevention education, and counseling for victims to prevent cyberbullying among adolescents. As the use of smart devices increases and with the appearance of the “born-digital generation” who has been familiar with digital devices since birth, it is becoming more important to create a safe digital environment. Since various problems such as verbal violence, bullying, defamation, and personal information leakage are occurring in the recent cyber environment, Blue Elephant strives to establish and spread a sustainable cyberbullying prevention system to protect youth from invisible cyberbullying problems.

Cyberbullying prevention education has been provided to a total of 350,000 people since 2020 through Blue Elephant, which has also been reflected in the government’s major policy task for preventing school violence. In particular, as the annual Blue Elephant Forum is the best non-profit forum to share major issues of cyberbullying, more than 100 organizations participate in it to build a cooperative network for a sustainable response.
