“In March last year, an emergency occurred at Samsung Electro-Mechanics’ Busan plant. During work, Mr. Jeong suddenly collapsed from cardiac arrest, and his colleague Mr. Heo immediately administered CPR. Employees on site calmly followed the emergency response manual and called 119. Thanks to their quick and coordinated actions, they were able to save their colleague’s life within the ‘golden time.’”

Samsung Electro-Mechanics announced on the 4th that it held the “2025 Safety and Environment Workshop” to further expand its efforts to foster a field-oriented safety culture among its partners. The workshop was held at the Samsung Electronics Win-Win Cooperation Academy in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, with representatives and safety/environment managers from over 100 first- and second-tier partner companies in attendance.

The workshop aimed to prevent industrial accidents and establish a stronger culture of safety, featuring sessions on ▲ Major Accident Prevention and Safety Management (KOSHA) ▲ Fire Safety Training (Suwon Fire Station) ▲ and the Accident Eradication Workshop (Samsung Electro-Mechanics).

KOSHA Director Song Seok-jin shared insights into current industrial safety trends and recent accident cases, presenting practical prevention and response strategies. Lieutenant Jo Tae-il from the Suwon Fire Station provided training on identifying and managing fire hazards, preventive measures, and the use of fire safety checklists.

In the “Accident Eradication Workshop” hosted by Samsung Electro-Mechanics, partner companies presented on-site improvement cases and discussed strategies to fundamentally reduce safety incidents. Samsung Electro-Mechanics and its partners are jointly identifying and addressing potential risk factors through regular on-site inspections, and recently provided tailored consulting and training programs to ten partner companies to build risk assessment and accident prevention systems together.

Choi Jong-min, Head of Safety and Environment at Samsung Electro-Mechanics, stated, “Our partners are our companions and key members of the manufacturing field. Safety is the foundation of corporate competitiveness and the cornerstone of trust.” He added, “We will continue to provide education, inspections, and technical support to achieve a ‘zero-accident’ workplace together with our partners.”

Since 2016, Samsung Electro-Mechanics has expanded its partner training program from 43 companies to more than 100 this year, strengthening the safety capabilities of both management and employees through regular training sessions held every spring and fall. The company is also actively fostering a culture of mutual growth with its partners through various initiatives such as △ win-win fund support △ productivity, quality, and safety/environment improvement programs △ and specialized technical training.

In particular, in April this year, Samsung Electro-Mechanics reaffirmed its commitment to mutual growth by signing an “Agreement to Strengthen the Partner Ecosystem” with the Win-Win Growth Committee and its partners, announcing a three-year support plan worth approximately KRW 200 billion from 2025 to 2027.
